In spite of the continuing economic problems facing the country, and especially non-profit corporations, White Heron Sangha’s financial picture is still good. Our income for the year 2011 slightly exceeded our expenses.
The Sangha thanks the many people who donated throughout the year and at year-end during our annual request. Because of your contributions, White Heron Sangha has been able to continue offeriing numerous retreats and special events, support charitable activities, such as feeding the homeless at Prado Day Center, and support prison sanghas at CMC and Avenal. We are also able to serve people interested in Buddhism and meditation in the city of San Luis Obispo through our branch sanghas in the northern and southern parts of San Luis Obispo County, and through small reading and meditation groups throughout the area. The Board of Directors has voted to continue the expansion of the events and services we offer to people in our county in order to spread the dharma and offer assistance to people in need in our county.
It’s now easy to register and pay for the White Heron Sangha-sponsored retreats online through the event webpage, which utilizes PayPal for processing payments. Many people are now taking advantage of this service.
The continuation of White Heron Sangha depends on your generosity in the form of volunteer service, by donations of supplies and equipment when needed, and by financial contributions. Donations can be made online or by check to White Heron Sangha. See Donations (Dana) for more information.
White Heron Sangha is a 501(c)(3) California non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax-deductible. Our financial records can be viewed upon request. A summary is provided here.
